On this World Kindness Day... I thought this may be appropriate to talk about🤗
Remember to always try to have grace with yourself & others as much as you can! So many yogic teachings invite us to live in more deeply connected ways in line with the core values of love, truth, and humility, to name a few. Ahimsa, or non-violence, is one such instruction. This ethical discipline asks us to not only refrain from harming behaviors, but to extend love to others. Ahimsa recognizes and respects our interdependence with all life, our shared connection to one source or creator. Ahimsa rests on a belief in the inherent value of each living thing. As B.K.S. Iyengar explained, violence is a state of mind. Equally important to acting peacefully and lovingly, is thinking peaceful and loving thoughts. Once again, in another pocket of this vast tradition, yoga calls us inward to examine and expand our hearts. In a material world perpetually riddled with violence and dehumanizing institutions, ahimsa is always relevant and necessary. Taking time to breathe consciously, move intentionally, and take notice of our thoughts and repeated behaviors is the very foundation of building a life of transformative love. 💜🤗 #lilliansholisticjourney #enjoythejourney #worldkindnessday
